Miscellany Monday

TRAPPED:(
With both boys taking turns being sick and or having colds, I feel trapped.  I haven't been able to take them to the library or either of the two mom groups.  I don't want to be "that mom" who brings her sick kids and infects everyone else.  I pray that the colds go away. 

GOAL!
I almost completed my goal of 10 books in 2010 (see the tab above).  I'm currently reading the tenth book, I am not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells.  It's quite interesting so far.  I'll be done with it before the end of the week.  Yay, for me!

CHEMISTRY
I have to take two more exams.  I hate Chemistry. 

GOBBLE, GOBBLE
I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving.  I'm making the green beans and bringing rolls to my mom's house.  My sister is bringing dessert.  The rest is up to Mom and the aunts.  Hope it's good.

Five Question Friday

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?


Hmmm.  Let's see...I sprained my ankle in high school.  I had my head shut in a car door.  I got nailed in the face with a softball.  I've had 2 c-sections.  I'm not sure...

I guess the sprained ankle.  My mom was a single parent so my sister and I were at home alone.  So I pretty much had to get through it by myself.  The tylenol wasn't helping at all.  No matter which way I turned it hurt so sleeping was interrupted.

With the c-sections,  all I had to do was call a nurse and meds were mine.  I, of course,  was sent home from the hospital with meds.


2. How much sleep do you get at night?

Not nearly enough!  I guess about 6 but it's interrupted by AH and EH.  Some times I wonder why I even bother to lay down at night.


3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist?

Probably first grade.  My older cousin told me.  She was quite happy to do so.  I also remember suspecting that Santa wasn't real when my mom's friend dressed up as Santa.  I could tell who it was by his eyes.  I also remember finding a Barbie winnebago hidden in my mom's room


4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?

Holy cow, I have no idea.  I think it was Walk Hard.


5. What do you wear to bed?

Nothing exciting.  Usually pajama pants and a t-shirt.  In the summer it's shorts and a tank top

*CHEMISTRY
I have an exam coming up.  I'm more nervous about this one than I was the last two.

*CHRISTMAS CARDS
I'm going to try to take the picture for our Christmas cards myself.  What are the chances of getting both boys to be still and look at the camera at the same time?

I need to take a look at Shutter Fly to see what Christmas card options they have.

*SEWING
I want to take a sewing class.  I took one about 5 years ago and I need to refresh my memory.  JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts has 2 classes that will fit our schedule.  Yay!

*TIME
I can't believe it's November already!  This year as flown by!

Toddler Talk Thursday: What's in your Diaper Bag?

I have had 3 diaper bags since 2008 and I am currently carrying my favorite.  It's the Skip Hop Studio Tote and I love it!  Since I have a toddler and a 9 month old, I needed something that was big and functional. 

In my diaper bag I currently have:
3 diapers for EH
2 diapers for AH
diaper cream
1-2 bottles for EH
1 sippy cup for AH
bib and burp cloth
wipes container (with wipes of course!)
pacifier with clip
hand sanitizer
wallet
keys
cell phone
2 pens and paper
BRU sales flyer
coupon organizer
camera
Snacks for AH

TRICK OR TREAT!?!

HAPPY (belated) HALLOWEEN!

We took the boys to one of the local malls to Trick-or-Treat.  The mall was hot, crowded, and most of the stores were out of candy.  AH got a lollipop and was good to go.  EH was just along for the ride.

EH was a spider and AH was a T-Rex.

*CHEMISTRY
It's starting to get a little intimidating.  We're learning something called Stoichiometry.  My mind is a muddled mass of numbers and letters.

*NAP STRIKE
Today is day 2 of AH not taking a nap.  He woke up this morning just before 9am.  He was in bed for the night at 7:30pm.  I'm not sure how I feel about this.  On one hand it gives me more free time in the evening.  But then on the other hand, I don't get a break during the day.  We'll see how it goes.

*HALLOWEEN
Didn't work out quite as I had hoped.  With the boys being sick most of the month, I decided not to make the costumes.  I bought them cute costumes and they liked them but barely wore them. 

We didn't go to the pumpkin patch due to AH being sick.  So I didn't get cute pumpkin patch pictures. 

We went Trick-or-Treating at the mall.  It started at 4pm but by the time we got there at 5:30  it was hot, crowded and most of the stores were out of candy.

But that's okay.  They boys didn't know the difference and...

*IMPORTANT
What's most important is our health and we all seem to be on the up and up.  YAY!!!

*THANKSGIVING
I'm looking forward to the holiday.  I can't wait to have some turkey and cranberry sauce.
